Mike’s a little sore today and doesn’t have much of an appetite. I guess we’ll still have to wait for that pizza!! The major concern now is his beer belly except that it’s not beer that’s causing the belly to be enlarged. Because the liver is not working properly he’s got fluid build-up in the abdomen. They are starting the testing process for a transplant but in the mean time, they are considering a procedure called TIPS. This is a procedure where they put in a shunt to relieve the pressure in the major vein running through the liver. This will probably be done this next week if that’s what the doctor decides to do.
